In the Vortex
Open view: Sunday, 22 Oct, 3:00pm.
After having discovered the abstract works of Vorticist photographer Alvin Langdon Coburn, and the works and ideas of the Vorticist movement in the 1910s, I found that a lot of their descriptions of modern life and the challenges of it are still highly relevant today.
I have always been fascinated and inspired by patterns, graphics and lines, in art, architecture, photography, and nature.
This exhibition draws inspiration from Vorticist photography, paintings, and their descriptions of modernity.
It also aims to commemorate the centennial of Alvin Langdon Coburn’s exhibition of Vortographs at The Camera Club in 1917.
