Nirupam Biswas is a fine art and fashion photographer based in London.
He is strongly influenced by Richard Avedon’s work which reflects in his minimalistic style and light setups. He loves building a similar rapport with the models to create a subtle drama during the shoots. He also admires works of Horst P. Horst, Steven Meisel, Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier and Nick Knight.
He shoots with a digital SLR and a set of prime lenses. He mostly shoots in studios and loves using just the key light.
“I am glad to be living in the times where photography has already established itself as an art and the more I pursue it, the more I realise how fascinating it can get as an art form. Unlike painting, the models always retain their character in photography and the manifestation of the photographer as the creator can only exist as far as the idea or story is conveyed to the models and extracted out of the drama that follows.”
