Studio Demonstration and Workshop with Phil Westwood
Sunday 15 April
12noon – 4pm
Cost: £35
This four hour workshop is designed primarily for those photographers relatively new to the studio, as well as those with some experience who wish to gain a stronger and confident grasp of the principles of lighting for portraiture and figure work. You will be given a sound understanding of the basic lighting skills to achieve a range of striking and pleasing results in your future work. Phil will demonstrate the characteristics of different lights, combinations and positioning of lights to achieve desired effects, setting each light and metering for correct exposure. Phil’s particular interests are in studio work and architectural photography, and he has made a study of the techniques of the masters in these genres. He has for many years run the very successful female figure group at the club.
Participants should bring their cameras, as they will create their own shots of the model in the lighting sets demonstrated.
Cost £35. Limited to 8 participants, so early booking with the steward is advised.
